Supervisory Responsibilities :
GENERAL SUMMARY
To produce a printable solution for the customer on an electronic publishing system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Understands and implements the client’s job request and applies production, materials, and template design knowledge to properly set up the job for print
- Pre-flights or creates files to be sure that all GPC printing criteria are met and that the job ticket information matches the client specified information
- Makes and / or advises of any necessary file corrections to the art, photos, and / or pages
- Creates a pdf file and checks it to be sure that the file matches the client supplied proofs. Clearly communicates any problems or concerns to the CSR to be sure client expectations have been met
- Provides customer proofs and job instruction sheet to the CSR
- Makes plates in prepress in preparation for production to run the job
- Enters all time used in the production of a job into Monarch for accurate billing
- Communicates and interacts interdepartmentally regarding customer intent. Communicates with customer as requested by a GPC CSR or sales representative when needed
- Performs other duties as requested

- Basic mathematical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Ability to apply design skills to help create various forms of media using customer supplied art and text
- Proficiency in the use of Prinergy Workshop
- Proficient knowledge in imposition software is preferred
- Printing knowledge; preferably in a sheetfed manufacturing environment
- Graphic design knowledge is preferred
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED
None
EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED OR PREFERRED
- Minimum 2 years of electronic prepress experience,
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Printing, Graphic Design, or related field, or
- Combination of experience and degree in related field
