The Fundraising Operations Senior Manager Associate will help advance the mission of UWCI by focusing on creating, maintaining, and optimizing Operations that support, guide and enable the fundraising and engagement team to thrive and have the strongest opportunity for success.

The role is responsible for leading the Fundraising Project Specialist. This role is also responsible for providing processing, operations, and project support to the internal team members responsible for UWCI's fundraising and engagement activities as a part of the Eli Lilly and Company United Way giving effort (Lilly Gives).

Position Duties & Responsibilities

Fundraising & Engagement Operations : Develop and deploy processes and procedures with the team to increase productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Create and manage annual fundraising activity and operations calendar as well as financial goal setting templates. Oversee overall utilization of Fundraising operations team members and tools including internal Fundraising department site.

Work closely with the Fundraising Administration Senior Manager to ensure that tactics and tools used to implement processes to support overall fundraising and engagement efforts are optimal.

Assist with day of logistics for Lilly Associate events and engagements.

Data Integrity and Management : Work with SII todevelop and manage processes and efforts to assure alignment with high and current data standards.

Work closely with finance to enter and track pledges and payments and assist with processing pledges from the Lilly Gives effort.

Work with Fundraising Administration Senior Manager and Associate team to ensure necessary reports (charts, graphs and spreadsheets) from data in both Cybergrants and SCRM systems are accurate, and that donor data is being shared appropriately internally.

Analyze data and communicate findings regularly to the team. Leadership : Provide effective onboarding, supervision, and clear direction for Fundraising Project Specialist.

Identify and monitor progress toward clear individual and team goals while providing guidance and professional development opportunities to team members and promoting individual thinking and innovation.

Maintain regular 1 : 1 and team updates with team members. Provide high-level updates to senior level leadership. Interdepartmental Relationships : Responsible for the creation and maintenance of interdepartmental relationships that are mutually beneficial and create efficiency and effectiveness for the department.

Key operational departmental relationships include : IT - SCRM needs, dashboards, efficiencies in processes, representation during changes to the system, etc.

Power BI and other Business process efficiencies.Marketing - assist the Workplace Fundraising Director with the evaluation, ordering and timing of campaign marketing materials.

Finance monitor pledge processing, reporting of payments, suspense payments, etc for consistencies in process(es) for such interactions, providing suggestions and feedback to further effectiveness.

SII support data integrity and management efforts and implementation of accountability measures for database utilization.

Customer service : act as main point of contact for Lilly Retiree Donation phone line; answer retiree phone line calls promptly, provide information, capture pledges or route calls appropriately;

generally, troubleshoot and field requests from donors and team members. This role will also provide support to external partners including but not limited to the Lilly United Way Coordinator.

Connecting Hearts at Home (CHH) Program support & Grant Administration : Coordinate between Lilly and UWCI finance team to process grants from Lilly and ensure all grants are disbursed with enough time to be used effectively (no later than early August);

facilitate two checkpoints throughout the year with grant recipients.

  • Annual Goals : Achieve established goals. Work with the Vice President of Workplace Fundraising to ensure goals reflect, align and contribute to the broader goals of the organization.
  • Flexibility : As with any successful organization, UWCI is evolving with our changing external environment. Flexibility is a key attribute for this position.

A willingness to take on additional duties to ensure the success of the team is essential. Performs special assignments and other work, on an as-needed basis.

This role requires routine travel up to 25% of the time.

This individual routinely navigates Salesforce CRM database, reads, interprets, and analyzes financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and / or governmental / legal regulations.

Sometimes presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers (may include Top Management), clients, customers, and the general public.

Routinely writes complex detailed reports and business correspondence.

This individual routinely analyzes and defines problems, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Able to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.

Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions / information in mathematical or diagram form and deals with several abstract and non-concrete variables.

This individual makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance, and budgets and in support of the organization's strategic direction.

Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions. Decisions tend to be short term (one year to three years) and usually moderate to high cost.

Education and / or Experience

Bachelor's Degree required. One to two years of administrative support-related and operations experience required. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of non-profit organizations preferred.

SCRM Power User Certification preferred. Salesforce Licensing for CRM preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Salesforce certification preferred. Two years of proven successful project management preferred.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong reputation for integrity and professionalism, strong critical thinking capabilities including the willingness and ability to ensure accountability, ability to build strong relationship both inside and outside UWCI, ability to think strategically, ability to foster an inclusive environment consistent with UWCI's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Must have the ability to prepare, explain, and monitor performance, manage projects and workload, and engage constructively with the other members of the UWCI team.
