Special Education Teacher Qualifications Certification in special education preferred Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with a concentration in a content area Secondary classroom experience in an urban context (three years preferred) Solid and demonstrable teaching experience working with a variety of student academic levels Exhibits the ability to collaboratively work within and across disciplines with a diverse instructional team Experience working with parents and community Excellent interpersonal communication skills, classroom management, and adaptive teaching The Special Education Teacher will report directly to the Special Education Coordinator and Principal.

The Special Education teacher may actively co-teach a classroom of students alongside a core content teacher, and will support students for targeted small group and individual workshops .

This position will support and case manage for students enrolled in the Student Learning Support (SLS) cohort. These students receive a high level of special education support at Girls Global Academy in a variety of settings.

About Our School Girls Global Academy (GGA) is an all-girls public charter high school in Washington, DC. We are currently a Candidate to be an International Baccalaureate World School who offers the IB Career Programme with specific pathways in engineering and business.
