The Mood Disorders Laboratory, part of the Institute for Mental Health Research , is hiring a Postdoctoral Fellow. The mission of the Mood Disorders Laboratory (MDL) is to advance our understanding of mood disorders, such as Major Depressive Disorder, through scientific research.

Per University policy, this assignment is a temporary training position for a recent PhD graduate. The Postdoctoral fellow must have received their Ph.

D. no more than three years prior to the initial start date.

This is a temporary fixed-term, one-year position with the chance to renew on a yearly basis based on performance and / or the continuation of grant funding.

This position is eligible for a hybrid Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) (on-campus and remote work). FWA arrangements are subject to manager approval and may shift due to changes in business needs.

Purpose

The Postdoctoral Fellow will Lead the co-ordination of a new R01 research project.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate research project
  • Supervise paid RAs and volunteer RAs working on the project
  • Contribute to scientific manuscripts and prepare reports for NIH / IRB
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

PhD in Clinical psychology or related field received no more than three years prior to start date. Familiarity with statistical software, R.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with eye tracking and / or cognitive bias modification research. Experience with PsychoPy or similar software.

Experience with diagnostic assessment, particularly with the assessment of depression and related disorders.

Salary Range

$70,000-$75,000

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
