The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will assist the Project Manager (PM) by supporting designated project tasks, ensuring timely completion of deliverables, and collaborating with the PM on reviews.
This role entails coordinating a range of activities encompassing engineering, estimating, project controls, client presentations, procurement, and construction duties across project development and execution phases.
Responsibilities may encompass multiple projects simultaneously. When not directly involved in project-specific activities, the APM will aid in other project and proposal initiatives or collaborate with various operational support groups.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Coordinate engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction activities throughout project development and execution phases.
- Assist the PM in establishing the initial project schedule in conjunction with engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction management teams.
- Participate in value engineering and constructability assessments.
- Collaborate with procurement to define subcontractor and vendor scopes of work, and prepare contract exhibits for PM review before processing.
- Work with Safety personnel on safety-related aspects, including developing project-specific safety plans, reporting incidents, and supporting incident investigations.
- Assist the PM in project scheduling and contribute to preparing monthly project review reports for project management and Senior Management review.
- Support project financial evaluations and monthly closeouts.
- Assist in managing Request for Information (RFI) submittals using QISG’s document management system.
- Provide feedback to improve the quality of technical, commercial, and administrative project deliverables.
- Aid in procuring purchase orders and subcontract packages.
- Monitor overall progress in design, procurement, and construction.
- Facilitate Project Close-Out and Warranty administration.
- Conduct post-construction cost reviews and reporting, and contribute to lessons learned sessions.
- Fulfill any additional duties assigned by the PM, including assuming PM responsibilities during the PM’s absence.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
