Responsibilities
- Legal Research, Analysis and Writing : Create and classify legal information in the form of headnotes, highlights, and other features; identify key legal issues in editorial materials; demonstrate competence in Westlaw navigation and online research tools.
- Editorial Responsibility : Adhere to editorial publishing schedules and quality standards; verify own work and that of others for accuracy and completeness; maintain and develop legal knowledge and skills training to stay current on legal trends related to editorial responsibilities.
- Individual and Leadership Development : Attend meetings, participate in employee evaluations, and develop knowledge of Thomson Reuters Legal publications and products related to responsibilities and those of competitors.
- Team Collaboration : Prioritize own work and understand the roles of collaborators; demonstrate competence on company systems necessary to perform job functions.
- Cases Editorial : Read and analyze court decisions and create and classify short summaries of points of law for Westlaw and print; maintain strong analytical and writing skills, productivity, and quality.
About You
J.D. degree from an American Bar Association accredited law schoolSelf-starter with aptitude for legal research and writingAnalytical thinker who uses logic and collaborates to solve problemsDecisive with a focus on quality decisions made quicklyAbility to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex legal materialComfortable with personal computers; familiar with word processing and online applicationsAbility to prioritize tasks and pursue them with energy and driveStrong teammate who works well in a shared environmentExcellent written and spoken communication with internal and external contactsLocation
