Production Machine Operator 2nd or 3rd Shift

Our focus is on innovation and excellence, and we are excited to announce an opportunity with one of our clients, a metal fabrication company based in Freeport, Illinois.
This company specializes in the manufacturing of metal products such as shear panels, roll-formed products, and metal building systems.

As a Production Machine Operator, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that the machine operates efficiently and safely.
You will work on the 2nd or 3rd shift, handling various tasks to produce high-quality metal products.
What youll be doing :
- Install and feed progressively smaller dies in the machine until the wire diameter meets work order specifications
- Insert wire into the machine feed mechanism, start the machine, and monitor operations
- Turn setscrews to secure the roller die in the machine
- Load spools of wire on the spindle and thread wire through the machine and around the take-up reel
- Start the machine and adjust controls to regulate speed and temperature according to specifications
- Record production information in computerized or manual system packets
- Perform daily safety and mechanical checks of the machine to ensure it is safe and running properly
- Maintain safety procedures at all times
Requirements :
- Minimum 1 year of machine operation experience
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Basic knowledge of operating a Windows-based personal computer
- Self-directed and able to work efficiently with little direct instruction
- Physical ability to stand, walk, pull, and bend for 100% of the time
Schedule :
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime and weekends as needed
