Essential Functions
- Bringing hot food off the line into the dining room for servers to bring to guests
- Assisting service staff, chef and line cooks as requested
- Restocking line as needed
- On going maintenance in the kitchen
- Opening and closing side work as instructed by Chefs and management team
- Arriving to work on time, properly dressed
- Find out the assignments and complete side work in an efficient manner
- Know the table numbers and drop off points
- Ticket accuracy
- Check all tickets thoroughly
- Entrée ticket has been punched in and gone to the entrée side once appetizers are ready for delivery
- Each tray must have appropriate underliners for soups and appetizers whenever necessary
- Keeping the level of bread appropriate for business levels
- For lead Runner- expedite food from hot appetizers and salads
- Carrying trays of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to the dining room
- Returning any bussed trays in the dining room to the dishroom or runner’s line
- Keeping up with stocking standards throughout service
- Keeping the kitchen clean before, during and after service
- Stocking the broil, sauté, middle, back line, hot apps, pantry and dessert areas with plates, bowls, tureens, silverware, glassware and anything else which may be needed to send food trays out to the dining room
- Following the breakdown procedures and breaking down the kitchen in an efficient manner
- Performing all duties in a professional manner, when dealing with guests or other employees
- Helping other runners, warewashers, cooks, waiters, bartenders, and managers when called upon
- Maintaining proper communication among team members and management, to ensure satisfaction of all guests needs
- Making any dessert or set-up in a timely manner
- Perform additional duties as requested by Chefs and management team
Requirements :
- Experience in a fine-dining or high-volume restaurant
- Ability to converse, read and write in English with excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Able to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately in a positive, upbeat and enthusiastic way
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interactions / relationships with management, coworkers and guests while maintaining an outgoing, friendly and approachable attitude
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision and complete required tasks within set schedules and deadlines
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, time management, follow-up and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with a customer service orientation
- Be flexible and eager to learn new things
- Maintain a strong professional presence and present a well-groomed appearance
- Must be able to safety carry large trays containing food through the kitchen into the dining rooms, bars and banquet spaces
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, twist, lift, push, pull and grip items when necessary.
May lift up to 30 pounds; push, pull or move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity is essential
- Must be able to work varied hours / days, including evenings, weekends and holidays, in accordance with restaurant operations and adhere to the attendance requirements of the company
- Must adhere to the established appearance, hygiene, and dress code guidelines
- Ability to adhere to and comply with all rules and regulations of the company
