Abba’s sole mission is to supply customers with the highest precision and tightest tolerances available for complete newly manufactured and reconditioned Rubber and Chrome Rollers, Rubber and Metal incorporated components, and wheels for Warehouse Logistic Robots.

With unmatched rubber chemistry and engineering capabilities, ABBA Roller leverages custom formulation designs to meet critical requirements and provides in-house compounding of all elastomeric materials that are batch tested for quality and consistency in our Chemistry Laboratory.

ABBA has more than 2,000 proprietary rubber formulations. All our roll covering formulations are milled in-house. Each rubber material is batch tested for consistency in our on-site Rubber Chemistry Laboratory.

Summary :

IPS - ABBA Roller is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in industrial rubber solutions and products to join our team.

The candidate will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and capturing new business by nurturing existing customer relationships and developing new customers in the warehouse robotics, oil & gas, agricultural and electrical vehicle battery manufacturing markets as well as other highly engineered custom product sectors that fit ABBA ROLLER’s capabilities.

Ideally, the candidate should be connected in one or more of the market segments and have current contacts.

Reporting Structure

Reporting to ABBA ROLLER Vice President / General Manager

Working Conditions

  • Remote or onsite at ABBA ROLLER, Ontario, California. Daily availability during work hours is required. Travel 50% to customer locations, manufacturing site or Industry events.
  • Standard office environment. Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail. Working conditions are normal for an office area within a manufacturing site.
  • Standard travel. May use air and / or road travel and stay overnight at hotels.
  • Visit to manufacturing site will require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to : eye safety glasses, hearing protectors and safety shoes.

May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes.

Standing : 30% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task / Sitting : 70% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task / Lifting (in pounds) : up to 20 pounds / Pushing (in pounds) : up to 20 pounds / Mental / Visual : use of computer / Workspace (line, cube, etc) : Office or Cubicle.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Identify and prioritize target markets, segments, and potential customers within the warehouse robotics, oil & gas, agricultural and electrical vehicle battery manufacturing market segments as well as other highly engineered custom product sectors.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve bookings and sales targets.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customer decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including commercial, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure alignment with customer requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay on top of industry trends, developments, and opportunities.
  • Be a customer advocate to promote opportunities to strengthen ABBA’s position with customers.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to promote company visibility and brand awareness.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates on sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights to peers, the ABBA ream and senior leadership.
  • Collaborates and partners with other internal functions to accomplish product design, production, delivery, and support of products.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Typical qualifications would be :

  • Required proven experience in business development, sales, or account management with a focus on industrial rubber solutions and products.
  • Deep understanding of industry dynamics, market trends, and regulatory requirements in one or more of the key target markets;

warehouse robotics, oil & gas, agricultural and electrical vehicle battery manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated strong track record of successfully closing complex sales deals and achieving revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business tools.
  • Proven ability to analyze data in excel and review, modify PowerPoint presentations for executive leadership and customers.
