SCOPE OF POSITION :

The Slot Performance Shift Manager is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Slot Performance Team Members during their assigned shift.

This includes assisting with strategic planning to achieve overall department goals and objectives, management of all Slot equipment, systems, training, inventory, activity and maintenance in accordance with established guidelines and company policies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management.

All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

  • Responsible for the effective performance and operation of all slot related items, by ensuring adequate inventory levels, managing expenses and through preventative maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for the performance of all Slot Performance Supervisors, Slot Tech III, Slot Tech II, Slot Tech I and Project Coordinator on assigned shift and communicates to the Director of Slot Performance any machine, guest or employee problems.
  • Assists in developing and implementing an effective strategy for growth and efficiency of operations by reviewing and evaluating slot performance and / or profitability, utilizing reports, logs and player appeal to make slot activity recommendations.
  • Responsible for the organization of assigned shift and casino floor, including daily employee assignments, employee break schedules and staffing levels.
  • Enforces performance standards, policies and procedures implemented by the organization, department or Gaming Authority.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels in the department through, training, evaluating, and disciplining Team Members as needed.

Assists in the interviewing and selection process of new Slot Technicians as needed.

  • Contributes to the development and is responsible for the implementation of all departmental training programs within the Slot Performance division.
  • Coordinates and supervises the department’s slot activity through the directives given by the VP of Slots, Slot Director or Director of Slot Performance.
  • Assists in conducting monthly reviews of all machines performance, utilizing reports and logs to make slot activity recommendations.
  • Participates in Slot Department special projects in a team environment by interpreting gaming documents, gathering materials necessary to complete the project, including RAM clears, key chipping, machine moves, conversions, and upgrades.
  • Responsible for maintaining a strict level of confidentiality including, but not limited to Team Member records and machine option settings.
  • Utilizes manufacturer’s websites and customer notifications to ensure that all machines are in compliance with GLI standards.
  • Initiate and promote communication with subordinates, Team Members, Vendors, Management, Gaming Investigators and other departments.
  • Responsible for monitoring the preventative maintenance, service and overall maintenance of all slot machines and related systems and shop equipment and communicating any issues with management or the equipment vendor.
  • Responsible for maintaining a dependable work attendance record in accordance with the established company policies.
  • Verifies that all slot games communicate accurately with internal systems for accounting purposes; researches and resolves issues that arise with same.
  • Assists Slot Attendants in verifying and processing jackpots / hand pays as needed.
  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (Federal, Tribal, etc.) and attendant regulations as well as the company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of all current property promotions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Directly supervises all Slot Performance Supervisors and indirectly supervises all Slot Technicians and Project Coordinator on assigned shift.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include : training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;

addressing complaints and resolving problems; and assisting in the interviewing and selection process of new Team Members.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and / or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities :

Eight years’ experience in a 2500+ game Slot Department utilizing IGT Advantage with a minimum of Five successful years in a slot technical supervisor position or above.

Working knowledge of MEI Easitrax, PromoNet, VizExplorer, AutoCAD, Atrient and BEPS with the ability to troubleshoot related hardware.

Working knowledge of internal controls with regards to Slots with the ability to create, modify and recommend change. Strong computer skills.

Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as sound judgment, organizational and planning abilities.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ten years’ experience in a technical or analytical slot position with Five successful years’ experience as a slot technical supervisor position or above.

Associates Degree in Business or Electronics.

Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to maturely express one’s opinions, concerns, and feelings in spite of disagreement; communicate politely and professionally to others, regardless of their status or position.

Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematical such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The ability to push, pull and maneuver up to 200 pounds, for the purpose of installation, repair or maintenance.

Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending upon business.

Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.
