Job Summary :
The Automotive Assistant Controller / Office Manager assists in managing the financial operations of the dealership or automotive group.
This role involves overseeing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the Controller in strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable : Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collections.
- General Ledger Maintenance : Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and dealership policies, including internal controls and audit processes.
- Cost Analysis : Conduct cost analysis for various departments and provide insights to improve profitability.
- Team Management : Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and support in their professional development.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, such as sales and service, to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business operations.
- Tax Compliance : Assist with tax preparation and compliance, including sales tax, income tax, and other applicable taxes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
