Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Material Handler with experience operating indoor cranes to join our dynamic team.
The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials, using indoor cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as necessary.
This role involves moving, loading, and unloading materials, organizing inventory, and ensuring the timely flow of materials to support production and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate indoor cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move materials safely and efficiently within the facility.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are securely stored and transported.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking materials and supplies in the warehouse and on the production floor.
- Conduct regular inspections of cranes and other equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience operating indoor cranes or similar material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Skills
- Knowledge of operating various types of indoor cranes, including bridge cranes, jib cranes, or gantry cranes.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hoists.
- Understanding proper load securement techniques to prevent material shifts or accidents.
- Ability to perform basic inspections and routine maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse practices, including receiving, storing, and tracking materials and supplies.
- Basic math skills for calculating weights, inventory counts, and tracking materials accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts, safety guidelines, operational manuals, and work orders.
- Precision in handling materials, tracking inventory, and following instructions to prevent errors and ensure quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication to coordinate with team members and report issues or needs.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues or workflow challenges independently and proactively.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Extended periods of standing, kneeling, and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate and handle tools and machinery safely and effectively.
