This position will be required to clean, sanitize, and maintain areas by providing daily cleaning services for all buildings, the church and rectory for the Pastor at San Juan de los Lagos Church.
In addition, the individual will be responsible for planning and preparing meals, maintenance of kitchen facilities and equipment and for ensuring compliance with all USDA and health department requirements.
Position Responsibilities :
- Cleaning to include but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing and vacuuming offices, resident suites, student rooms, guest rooms, chapels, bathrooms and meeting spaces in all Assumption Seminary buildings.
- Develops and adheres to cleaning schedule (i.e. Resident priest suites) to assure cleanliness of seminary is maintained.
- Communicates effectively with management to address issues or problem areas.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with staff / faculty to address cleaning needs / requests.
- Stocking / Replacing of cleaning supplies where refilling is needed (i.e. bathrooms, meeting spaces).
- Sanitizing / disinfecting frequently used areas around campus buildings (i.e. doors, tables).
- Disposing of waste in rectory to designated area for pick up.
- Organizing cleaning closets / carts for use.
- Notifies maintenance / facilities department of needed maintenance or repairs.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Cook
- Cook for Pastor 4 - 5 days a week.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and cleaning of all kitchen facilities, equipment and tools
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all health department and USDA requirements and guidelines are followed.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all work conditions and procedures are safe.
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Education or equivalent preferred. Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in cleaning including dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming and cooking.
- Required - Must be bilingual and be able to speak English and Spanish fluently.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills :
- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals / supplies and equipment use.
- Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and / or guests.
- Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff and visitors to the property.
- Will be required to punch in and out of payroll time reporting system.
- A solid grasp of cleaning and organizing.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
- Must have good written and verbal skills.
- Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
