Job Summary :
Facilitate nursing division clinical learning experiences for faculty and students for all program tracks. Ensure all student and faculty requirements are met for clinical site placement.
Assist the dean and directors with new and existing affiliation agreements, clinical hiring process, clinical site relationships, clinical faculty evaluation, and any student issues that may arise.
Meet with nursing leadership at the clinical sites for feedback.
Required Qualifications :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow mandated guidelines set forth by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Texas State Board of Nursing, and DFW Hospital Council to ensure all mandated requirements are met for clinical experiences.
- Ensure all student and faculty guidelines / requirements are met and appropriately documented for clinical site placement, including providing documentation of mandatory requirements to clinical site partners.
Utilize the Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS) or equivalent system used by clinical site partners to ensure clinical needs are requested, and requirements are met.
- Coordinate clinical training by maintaining relationships with clinical facilities; pursuing new clinical agreements to ensure effective student clinical experiences;
- assuring clinical contracts are reviewed and current; organize training and development of clinical faculty / preceptors;
conduct clinical visits each semester; conduct and report clinical site evaluations; conduct and record evaluation of clinical faculty and develop and maintain clinical rotation schedules.
Work with clinical faculty to ensure safe and effective clinical experiences and provide a clinical faculty orientation each semester.
Assist directors in the interview and hiring process for adjunct faculty.
- Collaborate with faculty to explore opportunities to improve student learning experiences and provide recommendations as appropriate toward student instructional materials.
- Assist the dean and directors in gathering data to facilitate the completion of the Systematic Plan of Evaluation (SPE) each year, the self-study for the Accreditation Council for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and the Texas Board of Nursing when necessary.
- Assist the dean, directors, and faculty to ensure : a) that minimum required competencies and contact hours for each student are met at the assigned clinical rotations, b) that records of student clinical performance, attendance, and other records pertaining to clinical training are maintained for each student.
- Assist the dean and directors with program recruitment and promotion to positively impact enrollment and clinical partner placements.
Participate in college and community service to promote the program.
Attend discipline, division, advisory, and college-wide meetings as required and report pertinent clinical information.
Establish mutually determined goals to promote the success of the program.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.
If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises.
Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Five (5) years of experience as a registered nurse with at least two (2) years of clinical nursing care experience.
Familiarity of managing clinical site placements for a pre-licensed nursing education program.
