Jettison is representing a law firm who is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic legal team.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in complex litigation matters and demonstrate leadership in all aspects of case management.
Role Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage complex litigation cases from inception through trial in state and federal courts
- Develop and execute comprehensive case strategies, including risk mitigation and pre-suit resolution options
- Draft and argue sophisticated pleadings, discovery motions, and dispositive motions
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing advanced tools such as Westlaw
- Oversee the discovery process, including managing document review projects and supervising junior attorneys and staff
- Participate actively in mediations, arbitrations (AAA and others), and settlement negotiations
- Engage in client intake, trial preparation, and other key firm activities
- Mentor and guide junior attorneys in litigation best practices and professional development
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in South Carolina, in good standing
- Minimum 8 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts
- Proven track record of first or second chair trial experience
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and court procedures
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
