Ramboll is seeking candidates for a Principal or Senior Managing Consultant position supporting our Product Safety and Stewardship Service Line within the Health Sciences Spearhead.
The successful candidate will generate, lead, and manage projects related to global regulation of chemical products, with strong focuses on the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA).

You will join our Ramboll Environment & Health department
As a new Principal or Senior Managing Consultant, you will be a subject matter expert in the area of chemical regulations, including US and Canadian new chemical notifications and compliance.
You will be part of our interdisciplinary team in the Americas, engaging with other business and technical professionals.
You will work with all levels of technical expertise, from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their own fields.
You will engage in a continual learning environment through coaching, mentoring, and on the job tasks.
You will be responsible for
- Maintaining cutting-edge knowledge of developments in US and global industrial chemical control regulations
- Providing high quality technical, scientific, and regulatory advice, including formulation of high-level regulatory strategy relating to global chemical control regulations and particularly the US TSCA and Canadian CEPA frameworks
- Managing multi-disciplinary, cross-geography projects while working with subject matter experts at Ramboll, and providing technical and regulatory consultancy services to clients in the chemicals, oil & gas, and other industrial sectors
- Acting as the primary client contact and being responsible for ensuring pre-market regulatory approvals are delivered to a high standard, on time, and within the proposed budget
- Leading comprehensive TSCA compliance and system audits under US EPA’s Audit and New Owner Policies by working with law firms and in-house counsels within client organizations
- Managing TSCA and CEPA submittals, including various types of new chemical notifications and reporting for existing chemicals
- Maintaining good working relationships with key personnel at regulatory agencies
- Marketing your expertise and identifying potential new opportunities for growing book of business and maintaining an established client network and independently managing those client relationships
- Publishing and presenting papers on leading edge topics at national conferences to enhance your and the firm’s reputations
- Managing, mentoring, and training members of the Product Safety and Stewardship team
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in a chemical regulatory environment and preferably 10+ years of consulting experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex regulatory issues to business personnel
- MS in chemistry, biology or a closely related field; PhD preferred
- Strong project management, analytical, research, and staff mentoring skills
- Strong record of delivering high quality work that exceeds clients’ expectations
- Demonstrated success in building business and developing successful client relationships
Salary Transparency Statement
At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $120,500 and $220,000.
Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education / training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
