We are looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our London Technical Services Team. This position is open to suitably qualified individuals, with 5 years + experience working in a commercial Surveying environment.
You will be responsible for carrying out the full range of professional Building Surveying duties on commercial properties for our clients and contribute to the continued development and success of the practice.

This newly created position will be at our new central London office, in Fitzrovia. Occasionally you may be required to work from our Head Office in Faversham, Kent.

The Role
- Carrying out various Building Surveys for Vendors, including pre-acquisition and technical due diligence.
- Preparing, negotiating and agreeing Schedules of Conditions and Dilapidations.
- Contract Administration.
- Carrying out Feasibility Studies, producing reports and working drawings.
- Carryout Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
- Preparing and agreeing Party Wall Awards.
- Preparing existing and proposed plans in CAD format.
- Act as Project Manager / Lead Consultant.
- Project design and Specification writing (NBS).
- Preparation of tender documentation.
- Undertake site visits, attending / chairing meetings, as required.
- Supervision and mentoring of Graduate / Apprentice Building Surveyors.
- Responsibility for team billing and achievement of monthly targets.
- Assist London lead with business development.
Requirements
- Must be MRICS.
- 5 years plus relevant experience in a commercial Building Surveying environment.
- Be self-motivated, with a strong team working ethos.
- Possess excellent communication skills, at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure timely delivery of services to clients.
- Possess excellent computing skills, work in an organised and methodical manner, with a high level of accuracy, technical knowledge, and attention to detail.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Be fully conversant with statutory processes and have a good understanding of UK Building Regulations and Planning processes.
