JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the Senior Sourcing Specialist is to purchase items in their assigned commodities to meet quality and delivery requirements as well as looking for potential saving opportunities.
This individual should possess a background and technical knowledge in procurement and materials management. Tactical experience in sourcing, fabrications, castings, and machining of large components in a mechanical production environment preferred.

- Sand Castings - All sizes Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, Gray Iron
- Balance and Over Speed Testing
- Contract Services
- Impeller Manufacturing (Machining and Fabrications)
- Coatings, plating, painting and shot peening.
- Tooling manufacturing Job related.
- Turbine Services and parts to RMS prints
- As well as many other industrial items
This position is a 40+ hours onsite position with flexibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Contract negotiations and order placement
- Implementation of cost saving strategies
- Mange Materials deliveries, supplier quality and costing issue.
- Supplier development Strategies
- Inventory maintenance
- Purchasing system entry and data maintenance
- Development of department processes and improvements
- Maintenance of supplier ASL to ISO procedures.
- Evaluate and maintain supplier score cards to meet RMS KPI objectives.
- Manage non-conformances and supplier chargebacks.
- Perform supplier tooling inventory and reconcile tools that remain on site.
- Initiate supplier improvement meetings to improve quality and manufacturability.
- Attend new order kick off meetings.
- Performs other related company duties, as assigned.
- Manage terms and conditions with suppliers.

Education :
BA or BS degree in business or related field preferred
CPM) Certification a plus
Knowledge and / or Skill Requirements :
- Purchasing in a mechanical environment
- Must be able to read and interpret engineered mechanical drawings.
- Strong organizational, communication and computer skills required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Required
- Know how to create and review contracts.
- JobBOSS experience a plus, but not required.
Previous Experience :
Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in purchasing, Materials management and planning. Experienced in procuring, expediting and managing fabrications, castings, and machining of large components in a mechanical production environment required.
OTHER INFORMATION
- The position will be based full time in our Houston, TX facility.
- Travel time expected to visit vendors as needed.
- This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40+ hours per week. Additional Hours, including evenings or weekends may be required based on company needs.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Ability to professionally handle stressful situations.
- Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
- Outgoing personality to interact with entire company and customers.
- Organization skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to legally work in the US and provide proper documentation.
- Ability to sit for long periods of times, able to reach above head, bend and stand.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol test and background check.
- This position can be required to participate in the company and / or customers random drug screen program.
Work Environment :
Office Environment on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may perform work in a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
