SMV Recruiting is actively looking for a Director of Operations for a small manufacturing client near Phoenix, NY. Our client is looking for someone with a background in leadership, manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, and who can oversee the production floor.
They need this person to be right-hand to the owner and ensure productivity schedules are met and orders are produce in a timely manner.

Responsibilities :
- Supervise, motivate, train and hold staff of 10+ accountable
- Run morning meetings and determine production schedules
- Track and review metrics daily
- Create a strategic plan
- Manage an annual operating budget
- Focus on continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen events
- Spend a large amount of time on the floor daily and support staff as needed
- Help run estimate meetings for new clients / products needed
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred)
- 10+ years manufacturing experience
- 5+ years in leadership
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Must be hands on, ok rolling up their sleeves, and being on the floor
- Experience working in a low volume production setting desired
