Maintenance Engineering Manager

We are working with a food manufacturing client in the Troy, AL area seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager with a strong background in project management and engineering to oversee their maintenance department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our equipment, infrastructure, and buildings, while also managing projects aimed at improving facility performance and reliability.

Strong electrical and programming experience highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure adequate training and development. Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Plan, execute, and oversee maintenance and engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and safety, to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
• Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, and monitor progress against these benchmarks.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Provide technical expertise and support for complex maintenance issues and projects.
• Analyze equipment performance and failure data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Lead initiatives to upgrade and enhance facility systems and processes. Implement and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance history.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, and take corrective actions as necessary. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and contractors. Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements are met.

Monitor the quality of work performed by external vendors and address any issues promptly.

• Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, project status, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and project documentation.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.

g., PMP, CMRP) are a plus.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management, with significant exposure to project management and engineering functions.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance processes, tools, and best practices.
• Proficiency with CMMS software and other relevant technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations effectively.
