LAW FIRM SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED COO

We are looking for a Legal COO who plays all in. Who deeply understands employee engagement, is metrics-driven and KPI-obsessed, and gets fired up at finding a better way to improve and grow us and with us.

Our COO will work directly with the Law Firm Owners and other leadership team members to oversee everything in our law firm except the practice of law.

This includes not only strategic planning, project management, critical administrative and financial oversight, but also a key leadership role in shaping and sustaining firm culture.

About the position

We're an established law firm with offices in Connecticut. Our team includes professionals who are both virtual and hybrid.

We need a full-blown, bona fide professional Legal COO with experience managing and growing a successful business. This is a position akin to an Executive Director.

The position encompasses a wide range of activities and involves all phases of administration, personnel, finances, facilities, and business systems.

We need someone with the experience and maturity to work closely with the Owners, other leadership team members, and staff on strategy, policy, problem-solving, and decision-making.

This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling Freed Marcroft's day-to-day operations and for directing and implementing Firm policies.

At Freed Marcroft, systems run the business, and people run the systems. This position is responsible for improving both our people and our systems.

You must be able to show evidence of your prior success with :

  • Playing a role in management of teams of 15+ people and budgets of $10,000,000 or more
  • Systems management and process refinement to ensure business and client needs are met, legal & ethical requirements are met, and potential clients and clients receive excellent service
  • Employee engagement and leadership, supervision, and termination
  • Recruiting and hiring
  • Measuring what matters and using financial reporting to make business decisions (budget variance, P&L, cashflow forecast)
  • Managing vendors such as technology services, insurance brokers, and bookkeepers, etc.

This executive-level position has an executive compensation plan that includes a base salary and substantial incentives driven by performance towards KPIs.
