Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a -bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.
In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.
- The Hospital is looking for an Admissions Specialist - PRN who would be responsible for being able to perform all aspects of Suncoast Behavioral Health Center intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources;
- providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate;
- assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the SBHC physician;
identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information.

Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- Master’s Degree in from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the mental health field preferred.
- Medium demand, mentally. Requires extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on telephone. Ability to assist in crisis intervention, physical intervention with out of control patients.
Must be able to participate in and complete Handle With Care Training on an annual basis.
