Newark office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a patent intellectual property associate attorney with 4 years of patent experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech / life science field.
The candidate will draft, prosecute, and manage U.S. and foreign patent portfolios related to small molecules and biologicals.
Responsibilities include :
- Providing strategic counseling on all aspects of patent law, including portfolio exclusivity positions and drafting of freedom to operate and patent invalidity and non-infringement opinions.
- Participating in and supporting patent litigations concerning small molecules and biologics (including ANDA litigations).
- Working closely with clients to identify and protect new intellectual property.
- Counseling and educating clients’ scientists and product development / business development teams on intellectual property matters.
Qualifications :
Must be Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. An advanced degree in chemistry, biology, immunology, or biochemistry or substantial R&D experience is preferred.
However, a bachelor’s degree with additional experience as a practicing patent attorney would be considered. Experience as an in-house lawyer in small molecule chemistry is considered a plus.
Must have demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting pharmaceutical patent applications globally, as well as in conducting freedom to operate and patent invalidity and non-infringement analyses.
