Summary The primary focus of this position is to support growth in business development through application development expertise in flavor and extract selection and evaluation to demonstrate the FP value proposition to customers as well as identify new opportunities for the portfolio .
Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavor creation, and customers for specific Flavor Producers, LLC applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist the Applications Manager with special projects directed by Upper Management
- Advise Flavor Applications Scientists I and II with technical assistance as they work with customers as needed
- Sit in project meetings in lieu of Applications Manager when unavailable
- Identify workflow processes that need to be streamlined and work with Applications Manager to optimize
- Incorporates industry trends into product development opportunities.
- Shares knowledge to the organization through training, coaching, etc.
- Guides, supports, and directs technical management of large, strategically important accounts. Able to fill in for account manager when appropriate.
- Assists Account Manager with customer contacts. Accompanies Account Manager on sales calls. Influences project direction with Account Manager and Customer.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
Preferred Work experience / educational requirements and other critical skills :
- MS, or higher, degree in Food Science or related field; as well as 10 years or more practical industry experience.
- BS, or higher, degree in Food Science or related field; as well as 12 years or more practical industry experience.
- Industry Experience in Flavor Applications in relevant markets : Functional Protein, Sweet Good, Beverage.
- Verbal, writing and formal presentation skills.
