Job Summary and QualificationsThe Oncology RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
What you will do in this role :
Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation
Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation
Act as an advocate for patient safety.
Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.
Educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.
What you will need in this role :
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required
1 year of RN experience in Oncology or Chemo Therapy preferred
BSN is preferred
BLS, (AHA Healthcare provider)required
Minimum one year acute care experience in a hospital
ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
One year of Oncology experience in the hospital setting required
HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties.
These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center.
Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation.
Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
