Job Description
The role of the Cybersecurity Security Analyst II is to protect Baptist Health Care's computer assets by establishing and documenting access and maintaining files.
The position works with end users to establish system access through proper service request system. The role is responsible for ensuring proper documentation is in place to provide timely access to team members, vendors and temporary staff and removes access due to immediate termination, resignation or the end of a contract period.
The position maintains security files by receiving, processing, and filing computer security forms and documentation; upgrades and maintains system by implementing and maintaining security controls;
keeps users informed by preparing performance reports; and communicates system status. The position maintains quality service by following organization standards, contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, and performing system account audits on a periodic basis.
The Cybersecurity Security Analyst II performs physical security walkthroughs and documentation on a periodic basis.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes enterprise security tools, as well as a learned knowledge of resources and industry frameworks and methodologies to assess and manage security at the perimeter, network, endpoint, application and data level.
- Reviews not only existing systems, but studies emerging threats and new vulnerabilities in order to ensure that the organization remains safe.
Must be comfortable evaluating systems for vulnerabilities, determining the level of risk, and recommending mitigation options.
- Manages and coordinates activities associated with installation, maintenance, fixes and upgrades to security systems, including work with internal resources and vendors.
- Identifies vulnerable assets and prioritizes them for patching or other remediation by the appropriate data or system owners.
- Detects, responds and recovers from incidents affecting BHC information systems. Utilizes Ivanti or similar tools to document tickets / incidents.
- Solicits feedback, performs project-based risk assessments, and assists the CISO in completing risk assessment action plans.
Evaluates, documents and recommends mitigation for threats to confidentiality, integrity or availability of information.
Stays abreast of threats and communicates and acts on them in an appropriate manner, demonstrating a reasonable level or urgency and effort.
Educates involving electronic and / or verbal presentation, depending on the needs of the organization and abilities within the Cybersecurity team and individual.
Includes monthly to quarterly phishing awareness test campaigns and training.
In addition to the performance levels demonstrated by the Cybersecurity Analyst I, the Cybersecurity Analyst II is expected to demonstrate a greater level of independence in selecting and managing work based on priorities.
In addition, they may be asked to provide guidance to junior staff or delegate from time to time.
- Supports security configurations of PCs, Servers, Firewalls, etc., and makes recommendations for best practices based on research and actual testing.
- Uses available and commercial tools to examine suspected PC infection and attachments, including detonation to evaluate risks and evaluate / recommend existing cyber protection tools / processes.
- Problem Management : Helps ensure that documented and standardized methods and processes are developed and used for efficient and permanent resolution of identified problems.
- Technical Support : Under minimal supervision, provides and / or assist with technical support.
- Communication & Documentation : As directed, prepares required documentation and communicates in a professional manner.
- Responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and / or callback as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Cybersecurity Required or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Five years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree Required
Minimum Work Experience
4-6 years Experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst Required

- Extensive understanding of enterprise computer hardware, systems, infrastructure and tools.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to document work in an ITSM or similar ticketing system.
