Job Title : Catholic Religious Education Coordinator Location : Tampa, Florida Duties : 1.1.1. Overall development and implementation of the Catholic Religious Education program, conforming to the directives of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, as given in the General Directory for Catechesis and the National Directory for Catechesis.
This includes meeting the needs of children from pre-school through grade 12, facilitating the RCIA program and teaching baptismal catechesis.
1.1.2. Developing, proposing, and tracking a 12-month calendar of Catholic Religious Education events and scheduled classes to be submitted to the Catholic Priest or his designate in June for the next Fiscal Year.
1.1.3. Coordinating with the Catholic Priest or his designate on proper scheduling and securing of facilities. Once schedule is approved, submit all requests in the chapel facility calendar.
1.1.4. Recruiting and training volunteers to staff the Religious Education program, including sacramental preparation. 1.
1.5. Providing an orientation for all new teachers and other training workshops, as needed, during the school year. 1.1.6.
Preparing a government funded area-wide Teacher Handbook, approved by the Catholic Priest or his designate, outlining job descriptions, annual calendars, policies and procedures, as well as sacramental guidelines and norms, to be provided to teachers two weeks prior to the beginning of classes.
1.1.7. Preparing a government funded area-wide Parent Handbook, approved by the Catholic Priest or his designate, outlining policies, procedures and class calendars, as well as sacramental guidelines and norms, to be distributed to parents during registration.
1.1.8. Conducting Religious Education staff meetings, as needed, and attending Liturgy Commission meetings in the chapel conference room or annexes.
The Contractor will also attend bi-weekly Chapel staff meetings, and when able, local meetings, programs, symposiums, AMS trainings or conferences within the Tampa community aimed at furthering the development of religious education.
1.1.9. Preparing Religious Education publicity materials approved by the Catholic Priest or his designate. 1.1.10. Conducting ongoing registration and maintaining a roster database for students, teachers, staff, and candidates for the Sacraments of Initiation and Reconciliation.
Updated lists are to be submitted quarterly to the Catholic Priest or his designate. 1.1.11. Arranging transportation needs for Religious Education programs with funding and / or resources provided by the government.
1.1.12. Supporting the logistical needs of the teaching staff in a timely manner. 1.1.13. Maintaining a supply of government funded consumable materials, conducting inventories of resources and equipment, and submitting reports to the Catholic Priest or his designate.
1.1.14. Developing and tracking the annual Catholic Religious Education budget, with the proposed budget submitted to the Catholic Priest or his designate no later than November for the fiscal year.
1.1.15. Submitting funds requests in accordance with local procedures. 1.1.16. Compiling reports as needed concerning Religious Education program elements and providing them to the Catholic Priest or his designate.
1.1.17. Providing the required Air Force Chaplain Corps Activity Reporting System (AFCCARS) religious education statistics to the Catholic Priest or designee.
Reports are submitted monthly to Catholic Priest by email no later than the last duty day of the month. Education / Experience : The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator must complete all appropriate annual training requirements in the Advanced Distributed Learning Service online (i.
e. Information Assurance, Force Protection, Operational Security, etc.) The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator must also be trained by the unit security monitor in accordance with Air Force Instruction 10-701 regarding Operational Security and Chapel Critical Information Lists and policies.
