Responsibilities :
- Assist in preparation of signal design and maintenance of traffic plans.
- Perform signal design plans to include : Traffic Signals, Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB), Pedestrian signals, Push buttons.
- Prepare plans for construction, including signal details, pavement markings, specifications and special provisions for construction.
- Develop Maintenance of Traffic Plans (MOT) for various design projects.
- Leading designated projects and reporting progress to senior staff
- Coordinate work with other engineers, CAD designers, and others who assist in specific assignments as needed.
- Attend field meetings with review agencies and clients. Occasional travel for field work is required;
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree required;
- 1 - 4 years of related experience required;
- FE / EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Familiarity with Michigan (County, City, State) permitting;
- Detail oriented and self-starter;
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience with AutoCAD and / or Microstation
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
