The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of business strategic projects with general direction from leadership.
Projects vary in scope and degrees, are larger with progressively increased responsibility, complexity, and impact. The Senior Project Manager is a champion of the project management discipline and successful project delivery.
This position serves as the point of contact for all parties including the business lines, management, team members, and third parties (vendors).
The Senior Project Manager needs to possess a robust understanding of the businesses they support at an industry and market level, allowing them to incorporate key elements into an initiative.
The Senior Project Manager role requires an individual who has proficiency within several of the following disciplines : leadership skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple projects, ability to problem-solve, and deliver successful results.
- Manages and leads teams on the successful execution and implementation of strategic projects.
- Promotes and advocates a collaborative team environment by coaching and mentoring colleagues while leveraging colleague strengths.
- Controls projects through the use of project plans and charters to adhere to the "triple constraints" : Time (schedule), Resources (people and financial), and Scope.
- Provides leadership and oversight for others as well as individually develops detailed project plans to manage and transparently report on progress status.
- Ensures timely completion of special project assignments that vary in scope and level of responsibility while quickly adapting to changing requirements.
- Oversees the ongoing review of project(s) status; identifies risks and developments, recommends and implements solutions as appropriate.
- Ensures alignment to strategic priorities.
- Follows prescribed project management methodology which includes, but is not limited to : delivery throughout the end-to-end Project life cycle which includes but is not limited to Requirements gathering, Risk and Issue management, collaboration with Architecture and Design, Testing, Training, Production readiness, and Change Management.
- Methodically plans, analyzes, and schedules multiple interrelated tasks and / or initiatives based upon their strategic value, scope, schedule, and resource requirements.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience : 4-7 years Banking, Business or Project Management. Knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts of Project Management.
Required 5-7 years Leading Projects in a Project Management role; Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) tool usage leading Projects in a Project Management role Required.
Licenses and Certifications : Other Project Management Certification Preferred.
