Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer Roadway Design to be based in Columbia , S C .

This position is expected to begin immediately.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :

  • Conducting engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Designing of roadway geometry, traffic control, signing, and pavement markings.
  • Utility coordination support.
  • Calculation of quantities and cost estimates.
  • Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Civil Engineering degree with a focus on transportation, highways, roadways, or pavement design.
  • Effective time management, task prioritization, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience with MicroStation is highly desirable.
  • Relevant internship experience preparing roadway plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with the client in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • FE / EIT preferred.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Columbia, SC. The selected candidate must be available to work in Columbia, SC on a scheduled basis.
