What You Do

Support the Production Control department’s objective to ensure successful new model launch and change point management by coordinating trial activities, managing suppliers, orders, and maintaining systems during the early milestones of production

As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also :

  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Collaborate with international team members from Mazda and Toyota or, other customers
  • Provide leadership and support needed to allow planned production while maintaining compliance to applicable environmental regulation through the following competencies
  • Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
  • Work cross-functionally with pilot team, manufacturing, and internal logistics conveyance areas to ensure on-time delivery of parts to production
  • Monitor component parts flow and inventory levels to achieve appropriate inventory levels for trials including tracking on time delivery, kitting and sequencing operations and on time part supply to shop
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance regarding trial parts ordering and delivery
  • Crisis management and coordination with internal and external supply chain stakeholders
  • Lead problem solving efforts to countermeasure and mitigate impact of abnormal supply chain conditions
  • Support new model launch and change point management activities impacting production and production systems
  • Contribute to and support annual business plans and strategies to support Mazda Toyota Manufacturing priorities
  • Confirm start of production readiness thru systemic analysis for parts list, supplier setup, and engineering change approval
  • Manage vehicle bill of material and specifications changepoints with data accuracy
  • Lead communication with supply chain regarding trial parts ordering and delivery processes
  • Lead projects to support continuous improvement related to trial part procurement
  • Visualize status of trial parts ordering as well as other projects and assignments
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of production systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking, with the ability to identify gaps, root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation
  • Developing project strategies, problem-solving and countermeasures
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's Degree (or Higher) in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related manufacturing bachelor’s degrees, or 4 years of equivalent professional work experience
  • Bilingual English / Spanish
  • Experience working directly with suppliers for supplier performance management
  • Working knowledge of Toyota Business Practices (TBP)
  • Vehicle manufacturing experience within a Body Weld, Paint, Assembly shop, or suppliers
  • Functional project management skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment
  • Strong data analysis skills
