We are seeking a Behavioral Health And Substance Abuse Peer Support Specialist to enhance treatment efforts for our clients.
You will provide non-classroom instruction to students on an individual or group basis.
Responsibilities :
- Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences
- Help clients navigate care systems and develop recovery goals
- Assist in accessing community resources (housing, healthcare, etc.)
- Facilitate peer-led groups and workshops
- Collaborate with clinical staff and participate in team meetings
- Offer crisis support and emotional assistance
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions
Qualifications :
- Lived Experience : preferably 1-2 years of stable recovery from behavioral health and / or substance use
- Certification : Peer Support Specialist Certification
- Compassionate and caring demeanor with the ability to build rapport among clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical proficiency with EHRs
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles
- Basic computer skills and ability to travel locally
- Experience in peer support roles or group facilitation
- Familiarity with community resources and recovery programs
