OVERVIEW :
As a Pickleball Instructor at The Club at Township, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality pickleball instruction to clients of all ages and skill levels.
Your primary responsibility will be to implement a variety of techniques to improve the individual and team pickleball skills of your clients.
To be successful, you must be able to engage clients effectively, demonstrate patience and creativity, and adapt your teaching approach to meet individual needs.
Additionally, you will be a positive and motivating presence, nurturing clients' confidence and guiding them to achieve their pickleball goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or ability required :
- Provide lessons and offer advice and tips to beginning players following established curriculum and safety guidelines
- Assists in routine preventative maintenance and minor repair of courts
- Helps maintain a monthly inventory of supplies, equipment, and or products
- Provides excellent customer service and helps monitor guest feedback
- Promotes the sale of racquets memberships among TCP members and TCP memberships among racquets members
- Have a deep knowledge of the intricacies of the game
- Maintains the cleanliness of the courts and surrounding areas
- Follows the court reservation system to ensure a smooth and even flow of traffic on and off courts
- Offers all instructional services including private and semi-private lessons, small groups, clinics, team coaching, and tactics and strategy for beginning clients
- Assists in the coordination of all social and competitive events including special tournaments
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS :
The position reports to the Head Racquets Pro under the additional oversight of the CLUB General Manager.

- Mental Demands : Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under pressure
- Physical Demands / Environmental Factors : Work with frequent interruptions;
- Elevated air temperature and humidity is dependent upon weather conditions as the courts are out-of-doors
- Regular standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, stretching, lifting, running, jumping, repetitive arm swings and other physical activity are required while performing the duties of the role
- Some sitting, close reading, and typing may be required while performing the duties of the role
- Noise level is generally low but may be louder and more intense during group activities
- Some travel may be required
- Hours are may, at times, extend to long or late hours to accommodate special events and / or special requests for lessons in the early morning or late evening as well as on weekends.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities :
- Strong racquets skills and a comprehensive understanding of pickleball playing techniques, team as well as individual coaching experience, tournament experience-playing and sponsoring events, and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages, sizes, and personalities, tailoring instruction to meet each student's needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both with students and parents, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Enthusiasm for pickleball and a passion for helping others improve their skills and confidence on the courts.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
- Ability to handle challenges and conflicts with professionalism and defer complex issues to management.
2) Minimum certifications / education / experience level :
- Previous experience as a pickleball instructor or relevant teaching experience in racquet sports
- PTPA certification preferred
- Certified CPR, and First Aid are a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), required
