Quality Manager
Location : Elmira, Michigan (Onsite)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the oversight of all quality-related activities at the specific manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
- Serves as the ISO Management Representative with responsibility for ensuring that the processes needed for the quality / business management system are established, implemented, and maintained.
- Promotes the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
- Facilitates management review activities.
- Coordinates internal quality and business system audits and track actions needed and implemented.
- Works with management to establish quality goals and objectives.
- Promotes and facilitate continuous improvement.
- Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and develop programs to deliver such.
- Acts as a liaison to external customers and provide support for resolving quality issues.
- Interface with manufacturing, product engineering, tooling design and other functional areas to develop part designs optimal for our manufacturing processes.
- Facilitate and improve communication between quality and all functional departments.
- Develop and implement departmental goals in line with overall direction of the organization.
- Facilitate team efforts to improve scrap issues, reduce grind content, and reduce quality related issues at the customer.
Develop programs to monitor the internal and external scrap rates and implement actions to improve such.
- Provide technical support and coordinate resolution of quality related issues on new and existing product. Lead efforts to seek necessary product modifications to improve the quality performance of parts manufactured.
- Ensure the maintenance and / or calibration of all department equipment and instrumentation.
- Write technical and management systems reports.
- Oversee quality department personnel. Duties include scheduling, planning, performance evaluations, training / development, coaching, and counseling.
- Supervise technical staff and ensure that tests and procedures are properly understood, performed, and evaluated.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Material Science preferred; and four to ten years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
