About the Role : The Corporate Solutions Design & Engineering (CSDE) team helps design & deliver solutions that are at the intersection of GTM Operations, Business Systems, Data & IT.

The team is both highly functional as well as technical, with a deep understanding of Product, Customer & Business domains.

The primary focus of the team is to architect, design, build, and deploy working cross-functionally with other teams for delivery.

Additionally, the team leads data governance & architecture for the internal adoption of Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform and associated real-time use cases.

The Sr. Application Engineer will be part of the Corporate Solutions Design & Engineering team. They will work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Developers, Administrators, and Project / Program Managers to design and build technical solutions, specifically focused on our Customer Intelligence initiatives.

What You Will Do : Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and requirements, as well as identify measurable success criteriaBuild real-time, event-driven applications using Confluent Cloud, Flink, Kafka Streams, custom microservices, and / or other custom tools that solve business objectives and requirements, adhere to architectural and data governance standardsContribute to the design of solutions leveraging Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform, including creation of architecture diagrams and technical documentationCommunicate technical solutions and design tradeoffs effectively to business stakeholdersWork cross-functionally with other business and technical teams to ensure that solutions are delivered, maintained, and adhere to standardsDocument and share best practices, learn new analytical techniques, contribute to defining data governance & architecture standards for the data streaming platform, and champion an organizational culture where data is central to decision makingWhat You Will Bring : Bachelor or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline : computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, etc.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software engineer and / or data infrastructure role, with a proven track record of building and maintaining data streaming applications.

Proficiency in backend development languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Node.jsHands-on experience and usage of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and / or Confluent, event-driven architectures, and stream processing applications.

Familiarity with database technologies, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Proficiency in version control tools, especially Git, and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and performing peer reviews.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

A passion for learning new technologies and a drive to stay updated with industry trends and best practices. Exceptional problem solving skills and detail-oriented mindset.

What Gives You an Edge : Experience with frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks like Svelte, Vue, React, or Angular.

Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI / CD) pipelines, leveraging Terraform for automation and efficiency.

This position has an annual estimated salary of $150,390 - $176,715, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
