Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our client's finance team in the Detroit Metro area.

They are a wholesaler of paint and vinyl car wrapping.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a thorough understanding of GAAP, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of our accounting operations.

The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for generating financial statements, managing daily bookkeeping tasks, and overseeing various financial reconciliations and postings.

This position requires a candidate who can work in the office at least four days per week.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Accounting Manager

• Financial Reporting :
• Generate monthly financial statements.
• Prepare and file 1099 forms.
• Manage sales tax filings and remittances.
• Generate ad-hoc reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage the annual budgeting process.
• Daily Bookkeeping and Reconciliations :
• Own daily bookkeeping tasks and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Reconcile daily bank activity for four bank accounts.
• Post and reconcile daily activity from Shopify into QuickBooks Online (QBO), including revenue and expenses.
• Post and reconcile activity from PayPal and Amazon Seller Central into QBO.
• Review and post business credit card activity.
• Accounts Payable and Payroll :
• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable function, including coding and posting vendor bills and cash disbursements.
• Post payroll transactions and miscellaneous accruals on a monthly basis.
• Inventory and Cost Management :
• Ensure appropriate inventory and COGS tracking in financial statements.
• Reconcile month-end balances to the inventory management system.
• Perform inventory costing and variance analysis.
• Asset Management :
• Maintain asset depreciation and amortization schedules.

Qualifications of Senior Accounting Manager

• 5-7 years of experience in accounting or similar role
• Experience posting and reconciling transactional details from various platforms into QBO.
• Strong background in managing accounts payable and payroll functions.
• Experience with inventory costing and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with Shopify and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Ability to generate detailed and accurate reports.
• CPA license or public accounting experience preferred
