Job Description :
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Perform evaluations of patient’s status utilizing clinical skills to address range of motion, strength, coordination, sensation, perception, cognition, independence in ADLs, mobility and transfers.
- Determine patient’s need for splints, adaptive equipment and / or assistive devices.
- Establish appropriate treatment goals with input from patient / family based on evaluation findings.
- Develop a plan of care based on results of the evaluation and treatment goals.
- Assess a patients potential for rehabilitation based upon the patient / family’s attitude toward rehabilitation.
- Maintain medical records with daily documentation of all evaluations and treatment with periodic reevaluations of progress and modification of treatment programs and goals accordingly.
- Provide education to patients, their families, nurses, other hospital staff and the general public on ADLs, energy conservation, ergonomics and the role of Occupational Therapy
Education / Experience Required :
- in an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- One to two years of experience in an acute care setting.
Registration / Certification :
- Occupational Therapy license.
- AHA BLS certification.
