The Art and Graphic Design department at High Point University seeks a full time Assistant or Associate Professor of Graphic Design who would also serve as the program coordinator to begin August, 2025.
Responsibilities : The successful candidate will : teach a 2-3 load of undergraduate studio courses per year (e.g., Digital Art and Design, Graphic Design Studio I and II, Typography, etc.
participate in innovative teaching and curriculum development; conduct and disseminate scholarship and / or juried creative activity as appropriate to appointment;
advise and mentor undergraduate students; and actively participate in department, school, and university committees.
Required Qualifications :
- MFA in Graphic Design or closely related discipline;
- Teaching experience appropriate to rank;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Evidence of a program of research and / or creative scholarship appropriate to rank.
Desired Qualifications :
- Membership in Phi Beta Kappa;
- Evidence of focus on student-centered learning;
- Evidence of participation in innovative teaching and curriculum development;
- Ability to interact with colleagues in a team environment.
