HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities) :
The Blender will produce oil blends for various products going to production lines and bulk deliveries. This position requires a person with strong mechanical and operator skills.
This position supports the day-to-day operation of the site providing general labor, relief labor and working in training for more senior positions.
This position requires the utilization of all material handling equipment, including operating a Forklift safely and efficiently, as well as maintaining accurate inventory through use of the warehouse management system for prompt, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers.
Attend informational, training, safety, and compliance meetings as scheduled.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Function within the guidelines of the Lube-Tech’s Purpose, Promises and Values.
- Follow written instructions on the Blending Work Order to produce various blended products.
- Gather raw material needed for blending a product per work ticket and blending work instructions.
- Prepare samples and gain approval before completing the work order.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Identify equipment, determine process flow, turn valves, start and shut down equipment to ensure proper operation of the assigned work area.
- Operate mobile and other equipment in a safe manner.
- Communicate effectively with other operators and supervision to ensure proper operations of equipment, maintain safety and ensure environmental compliance.
- Complete tasks as directed by production schedules with minimum supervision.
- Sample and load / unload bulk trucks and railcars in accordance with Lube-Tech procedures.
- Receive materials and place them into inventory from trucks and railcars using a computerized warehouse management system.
- Utilize all material handling equipment safely, efficiently, and perform all required safety checks and communicate need for repairs.
- Flexible work schedule due to product schedule and delivery changes.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager.
- Accept schedule and direction when there are changes in workloads.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Minimal travel required for this position, e.g. On occasion travel may be required between locations depending on business needs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications) :
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience and / or Training :
Minimum 2 years experience blending materials using precise measurements and methods.
License / Certification
Forklift Operation Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems on the production line as they occur.
- Understanding of KPIs and manufacturing packaging line processes.
- General Quality & Safety Awareness.
- Understanding of Lean Principles.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Basic mathematical abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Inventory Management System experience.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and / or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, and / or walk and climb staircases frequently. Employee must have the ability to lift / carry up to 70 pounds occasionally and push / pull drums weighing up to 400 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS :
Work performed in a warehouse environment and in extreme heat (>
80 degrees) during summer months as well as outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat during summer months.
May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required for this position. Work hazards Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse.
