JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Complete LEED documentation by utilizing knowledge of the building’s MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) designs and perform calculations as per USGBC LEED requirements;
- Perform calculations to determine the optimum amount of energy required to be added or removed from a space;
- Complete Piping Design calculations to design an appropriate system of pipes for conveying liquid throughout the building;
- Design ductwork layout for proper distribution of air throughout the building;
- Incorporate calculations into engineering drawings and specifications for the assigned Project;
- Develop initial engineering concepts that are to be further confirmed by the energy model;
- Communicate with the client after identifying concepts to establish pros and cons regarding system first costs and operating costs;
- Establish the project Basis of Design and develop the Mechanical Narrative to support such;
- Coordinate with the architectural and structural team to locate equipment and establish required floor, roof and wall openings;
- Communicate decisions to internal team mates;
- Develop detailed specifications of equipment and systems including controls and sequence of operation.
- Review installed work and respond to contractor questions for clarification.
