HSE Auditor

The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Auditor serve in a lead or support role in HSE-related audits. They are responsible for planning, organizing, and managing :
- Operations Excellence audits
- HSE, Process Safety, and Risk Management Plan compliance audits
- HSE management system audits
This position also works closely with the company's third-party risk management firm to lead, organize, and coordinate insurance risk surveys at Refining and Midstream assets.
Responsibilities May Include :
- Serving as lead (or back-up) auditor of HSE, process safety, and / or operations excellence reviews at refineries, midstream facilities, and other targeted P66 assets.
- Coordinating all activities associated with the assigned audits from the planning stage to the closing of the corrective action plans, including :
- Definition of audit scope
- Audit team selection
- Guest auditor topic assignments
- Audit execution
- Risk evaluation and categorization
- Audit report development and presentation
- Corrective action plan approval
- Tracking of progress toward corrective action completion
- Selecting and leading multi-discipline subject matter expert audit teams. Evaluating and tracking corrective actions for achieving or maintaining operations excellence, HSE compliance, and effective management system performance.
- Communicating results of HSE audits to all levels of line management. Developing and maintaining auditing tools and systems for use in Corporate HSE audits and business unit audits.
- Maintaining alignment and proficiency in industry, Company, and business unit programs and initiatives developed by trade association, internal Functional Excellence Teams, and Networks.
- Periodically providing training, consultation, and other services to business units, as required.
- Making recommendations and / or presenting issues to senior management, as needed.
- Organizing and facilitating insurance risk surveys, led by the company's third-party risk analysis firm, at refining and midstream assets.
- Participate in periodic reviews of the HSE Audit Program to continuously improve it's design, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Required Qualifications :
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3 or more years of direct refinery work experience
- 3 or more years of experience working in (or supervising) an operations, maintenance, mechanical integrity, environmental, process safety, or personnel safety role
- Working knowledge in the fundamentals of operations excellence and HSE topics
- Ability and willingness to perform / comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation :
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including (fire-retardant clothing, hard hat, safety toe footwear, etc.)
- Work in a plant environment which may present high levels of noise
- Must be clean shaven to comply with the refinery safety facial hair policy
- Travel up to 35% of the time
- Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC); Information can be found at https : / / www.

Preferred Qualifications :
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge or translatable skills related to web-based audit tracking software (SPHERA) as well as similar databases
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory frames and Company policies - OSHA, EPA, state agencies, Refining Required Standards, Midstream policies and practices, etc.
- Strong self-motivation, ability to anticipate group and organizational needs, and be proactive in following projects through to completion.
