POSITION OVERVIEW :
Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, including inventory management, inventory retention (IR) / reporting, inventory monitoring, inventory tracking (IT), and other related activities such as the supply chain.
ICS is also expected to initiate and manage inventory process improvement projects where necessary, following high-quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to) :
Conduct periodic cycle counting and audit material transactions and maintain accurate records of inventory in the warehouse.
Identify and provide suggestions for common inventory errors among finished and raw goods.
Work effectively and efficiently with cross-functional teams, including those from manufacturing, sales, and the warehouse.
Investigate discrepancies, provide root cause and drive corrective / preventative actions through process control activities and training.
Manage workload effectively so that the cycle counts are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Instruct warehouse personnel when and where to return defective or non-stock items.
Maintain proficiency in the ERP system as required to ensure inventory is maintained at a perpetual level.
Follow company SOP’s, policies, and procedures.
Lead processing of Year-End physical Inventory
Strong data entry / processing and analytics knowledge
Issue NCR on incoming and TO discrepancies
Audit shipping errors and spot variances
Capture and report inventory accuracy related KPIs
Manage adjustment processes and reporting.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
Must be punctual
Valid driver’s license
Forklift experience, preferred
Reliable Transportation
High School Diploma or equivalent
Steel Toed Shoes / Boots
2 3 years of working experience in the distribution / shipping / production / manufacturing / warehouse environment
1+ years of working knowledge in an inventory position managing inventory, including auditing.
Type 40+ wpm / Ten Key and computer knowledge of Microsoft Office products : Word, Excel, and
Outlook
Ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent's and / or ratios
Experience with ERP and IAS (Epicor Vantage experience preferred)
Must be highly organized, provide accuracy and attention to detail
Must be able to present conflict resolution and problem-solving in a prompt, positive, and professional manner
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while working both independently and with a team
Ability to maximize time management requirements / service levels outlined by the department manager
Ability to respond appropriately to the constant change in priorities and services as dictated by management and customer needs
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people through both verbal and written communication lines
Prior working knowledge of OSHA and ANSI (preferred)
Forklift certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements :
This position requires lifting cases weighing from 20-60 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday, loading, pushing, pulling heavy products, bending, reaching, and squatting throughout the shift while loading and moving products.
Some sitting for extended amounts of time while processing paperwork and working on a computer will be expected.
