TITLE : Maintenance Lead - Facility Systems

REPORTS TO : Director of Maintenance and Transportation

PURPOSE :

The purpose of the Special Systems Coordinator is to ensure the effective operation, programming, and maintenance of the district's facility card reader systems, energy management systems (EMS), and related equipment.

The role involves monitoring water usage, managing facility access, supporting HVAC system operations, and overseeing work orders.

The Special Systems Coordinator collaborates with staff, vendors, and the community to maintain a secure and efficient environment, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of the district's facilities.

This position demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while upholding the district's standards and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must obtain and maintain a AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Formal training in related field.
  • Experience working with energy management systems (preferred).
  • Experience working with and installing a badge and card reader systems (preferred).
  • Experience working with a work order system, such as Akitabox, School Dude, etc. (preferred).
  • Experience working with technology and software systems to perform duties.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona State Driver's License.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the utmost professionalism and appropriate confidentiality with the work that is conducted.
  • Monitor daily water usage and log on the designated spreadsheets / programs for tracking purposes.
  • Notify appropriate personnel (i.e. Director of Maintenance and Transportation) of any unusual high uses of water.
  • Notify the District's landscape vendor concerning possible water leaks and ensure the issue is resolved.
  • Assist in the installation of the badge reader systems across the district.
  • Collaborate with staff from IT and Employee Relations to create, issue, and assign badges for new employees and replacement badges for existing employees.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Administrative Assistant to create and maintain the schedule for the use of District facilities and schedule the doors to be open.
  • Acts as the liaison with renters to schedule the use of district facilities and review the facility usage agreement and rules.
  • Ensures completion of pertinent documentation for renters / vendors / community organizations using the district facilities.
  • Program the Energy Management System (EMS) for uses of facilities, renters, summer programs, afternoon programs, weekends, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain card reader systems to check for low batteries on a daily basis and perform maintenance duties as needed.
  • Assist maintenance staff in resolving issues with all HVAC units through the EMS system, and related equipment.
  • Perform repairs to EMS Systems and card reader systems as needed.
  • Process all work orders associated with the maintenance and repair of District Card Reader System and EMS System.
  • Assists with the coordination and the work regarding capital renovations, preventative maintenance and upgrades pertaining to bond and capital improvement projects of the District and school site facilities.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and safekeeping of all tools, parts, supplies, and other property of the District.
  • Collect, store, and dispose of all hazardous materials as required by federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
  • Use materials and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner, using all safety equipment or clothing which might be reasonable to ensure the safety of self, fellow employees, and students.
  • Recondition door hardware as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings, district events and activities, and training as assigned.
  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, community, and staff as it pertains to employment.
  • Continue personal and professional development through involvement in professional organizations and by attending and presenting at professional conferences, conducting colleague visits, facilitating school visitation, writing for publication, and engaging in professional reading as permitted.
  • Represent the District in a professional manner, and in the best interests of the district.
  • Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • 12-month position
  • FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
  • Starting Hourly Rate : $25.93 / hour, plus $0.25 per year of experience
  • Earned Paid Sick Time : Up to 5 days / year
  • Personal Business : Up to 7 days / year
  • Vacation : Accrues up to 5 days / year
  • Full Benefits (Health, dental, vision & life) : Begins on the first day following 60 day of employment
