Position Summary
Under direct supervision of the Tribal Administration Manager, manages the day-to-day operation of the Senior Meal Site.
Plans, implements, and supervises senior nutrition and activities programs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Senior Meal Site; ensures maintenance and upkeep of program vehicles are maintained and updated.
- Plans, implements and supervises a senior nutrition program that meets the Title VI Senior Nutrition Program requirements;
assists in the preparation, packaging and serving of meals.
- Coordinates and provides home delivery of meals in accordance with program policy.
- Responsible for menu planning and submission of weekly food orders; manages and maintains appropriate food inventory; responsible for receiving incoming orders / shipments, unloading and stocking inventory.
- Ensures compliance with all food service and health requirements established by tribal, state sanitary and safety regulations.
- Plans, coordinates, implements and supervises culturally appropriate center-based, educational, health / fitness, social and recreational activities;
identifies and distributes nutrition / health information; prepares and distributes monthly menus and activities calendar.
Identifies and coordinates with appropriate service providers to ensure health and social service needs of the elderly community are available;
makes appropriate referrals for services as needed.
Performs outreach and recruitment activities to encourage eligible participants to begin, increase and continue participation in center activities;
promotes the center and all activities to the community.
Responsible for supervision, orientation and training of Senior Meal Site staff; conducts annual performance appraisals;
ensures all safety procedures are adhered to in accordance with program policy; ensures all safety certifications are obtained and updated as required.
Prepares and maintains daily, weekly, monthly and annual statistical and administrative reports; collects and maintains accurate service delivery logs;
assists in data collection as required.
Conducts needs assessments on eligible participants annually, bi-annually or as needed; conducts home visits as required;
maintains confidentiality of all registration and needs assessments of participants.
Maintains effective working relationships with elderly participants, tribal administration, Meal Site employees, Five Sandoval Indian Pueblos, and all members of the general public;
maintains a positive and effective working environment.
- Coordinates and delivers transportation needs of eligible participants as needed to include medical, cultural, social and recreational outings.
- Attends, coordinates and facilitates meetings with Elderly Advisory Board, Elderly Coalition, Aging Network and community organizations as assigned.
- Participates in program directed training opportunities; pursues appropriate professional development plan and attends all required meetings.
- Monitors, evaluates, responds and resolves concerns, problems and / or complaints of participants.
- Purchases food items on a weekly basis.
- Serves as back-up when cook is unavailable.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Ability to supervise, lead, and direct the work of assigned staff.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to effectively manage time and work under stressful conditions while maintaining an even temperament.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate a computer and general office equipment.
Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
Required :
- High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
- Two (2) years’ experience working in elderly services or social services.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
Licensing Status
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
- Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
- Must complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any other licenses and / or certifications as determined by management.
