Function :
The Quality Inspector provides quality assurance and supports daily tasks to monitor & drive positive quality efforts in the manufacturing of our products.
Effectively communicates any issues to Management which may allow defective product to be produced, and or shipped. Conducts First Article Inspection Reports and communicates the results with the manufacturing (production) process.
Performs day-to-day quality activities including inspections, documentation, training, gage certifications (R&R) and supporting continuous improvement activities.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Receiving, first piece, in-process and final inspection of manufactured product using various measuring tools.
- Zero Defect Commitment
- Communicates and resolves Quality Assurance issues with operators and technicians.
- Calibration of gaging.
- Participate with IS0 9001 & AS9100 internal & external audits.
- Promote the awareness of quality & safety.
- Recognize and participate in good housekeeping practices.
- Understand and use SPC for monitoring processes (when required). Update run charts, archive and review data trends. Work with Quality manager to take action when processes reach control limits.
- Perform any duties that is requested on an as need basis with approval from Quality Management.
Qualifications :
- High School Education / GED equivalent.
- 5-10 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints / GDT blueprint interpretation.
- Must demonstrate competency with inspection activities and required tools including, but not limited to blueprint / GD&T blueprint interpretation, use of inspection gages and equipment, i.
e., CMM, Romer Arm, tape measure, scales, calipers, micrometers, height gages, surf testers, protractors & etc.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 : 2015, AS9100D, or TS16949.
- CMM experience, PCDMIS a plus
- Intermediate math skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of SPC techniques.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Internet, and Excel.
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Self-Motivated, assertive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
