Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial aspects of various projects, ensuring accurate accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

The Project Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models for proposed projects, monitor project finances to facilitate required journal entries which adhere to company policy, identify potential issues, and contribute to effective decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Financial Management

  • Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Track project expenses, analyze variances, and provide timely reports to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as a finance / accounting business partner to engineering, product and project management teams driving complex software development projects
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and update project financial forecasts.
  • Create and monitor project accounts

Financial Reporting

  • Ensure strict compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to manage interactions with corp accounting, internal audit and external audit
  • Ownership of monthly journal entries and quarterly deliverables
  • Ad hoc as requested

Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other stakeholders to align financial strategies with project objectives.
  • Provide financial and technical accounting guidance and support to project teams through robust knowledge of internal accounting policies

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent years of experience in Finance and Accounting field managing large scale projects.
  • 3+ years of accounting or finance experience
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced and highly visible environment

Preferred Skills :

Experience with project management tools and ERP systems.
