POSITION SUMMARY :
The Director of Community Programs is responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of various community-based initiatives and services.
The Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and oversight of Community Programs, playing a vital role in advancing the organization's mission and fostering positive change within the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Strategic Planning :
- Develop and implement strategic plans for community programs aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of WestCare Illinois (Chicago).
- Identify and understand emerging community needs and trends to inform program development and expansion.
Program Development and Implementation :
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of community programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, community organizations, and stakeholders to develop and sustain innovative programs that address identified community needs.
- Ensure programs are delivered in a manner consistent with cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and accessibility to all members of the community.
Community Engagement :
- Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and key organizations.
- Organize community events, workshops, and outreach activities to promote program awareness and engagement.
Team Leadership and Management :
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of program supervisors, counselors, and volunteers.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure the successful implementation of all programs and services.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Monitoring and Evaluation :
- Establish program evaluation frameworks and metrics to measure outcomes and impact.
- Collect information and analyze data to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS :
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
- Certifications / Licenses : LCPC / LCSW required, maintain annual Medicaid training certification.
- Education : Master’s degree in social services is required.
- Experience : Knowledge of offender populations, substance abuse assessments, and therapeutic community concepts.
- Skills : Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Bilingual is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Primarily in a professional setting with periodic local / regional travel.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB :
Requires mobility and physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work under stress.
