We are seeking a skilled Relay Technician to join our team. The Relay Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting protective relay systems to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical power systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical principles, hands-on experience with protective relay equipment, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities :
- Install, test, and commission protective relay systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on relay equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot relay malfunctions and implement corrective actions to restore system integrity and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and other team members to develop and implement relay protection schemes for new projects or system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of relay settings, test results, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory.
- Provide training and support to junior technicians and field personnel as needed.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a relay technician and / or field engineer.
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, including AC / DC theory, circuit analysis, and power systems.
- Hands-on experience with protective relay equipment, including electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based relays.
- Proficiency in relay testing procedures and diagnostic tools, such as relay test sets, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing protective relay systems, such as IEEE, NERC, and ANSI standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
