Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) is a subsidiary of the Kiewit Corporation. Since our founding in 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, Mass.

Electric Construction’s philosophy has been to pursue electrical projects that require a higher level of technical and logistical skill.

MEC has organized strategically to actively participate and capture projects in the growing industrial market. We intend to effectively compete and win in traditional and alternate delivery procurements and position ourselves for a sustainable future.

We self-perform the majority of our work and are looking for people committed to the industrial construction industry.

Irvine CA or San Diego CA

Responsibilities

Electrical Superintendents’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following : Supervise construction projects.

Perform daily inspections of work performed. Act as liaison and coordinator between contractors. Solve problems that arise.

Establish budgetary guidelines for the job, and ensure that cost control measures are being followed. Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel.

Establish quality standards of all jobs, and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met. Develop and manage job schedules (e.

g. three week, 90 day, man loading), coordinate work with contractors and deliveries with suppliers and ensure inspections are scheduled appropriately.

Since our projects are located nationwide, multiple relocations are required on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years experience as General Foreman or Superintendent
  • Management of union labor a plus
  • Direct and supervise crews
  • Broad understanding of technical electrical systems, including but not limited to :

o Underground layout and installation

o Instrumentation installation

Above ground systems layout and installations, including but not limited to :

o Conduit installations within hazardous locations

o Cable tray systems

o Cable pulling in conduit and tray

  • Experience managing 20-50 craft employees at one time
  • Prepared to attend meetings with customers and owners / general contractors
  • Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills
  • Adapt to new surroundings and new people
  • Must be able to access all points of a construction site
  • Must be able to work with a team and provide input
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Willing to travel and relocate on an as needed basis; nationwide
  • Able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary

Base Compensation : $89,174 - $137,050

Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location)
