Job Summary
The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities.
This role will collaborate with various internal departments and will work closely with management and leaders to provide accurate, timely and insightful analyses, metrics, forecasts, and budgets for the management team to make informed decisions.
- Manages the corporate management company's detailed budget and forecast preparation process.
- Collaborates with senior leaders and department heads on company, business unit, and departmental revenue and expense projections.
- Works with the Corporate Accounting Manager to analyze and explain financial performance variances from budget and forecasts.
- Leads the Corporate Budget and Quarterly Forecasting Process, including training and assisting department leads with the budgeting process.
- Responsible for monthly review meetings with department leaders, acting as a key point person for department financial results.
- Administers the preparation of short-term forecasts and long-term scenarios for residential, Almanac, and hospitality business units.
- Formulates detailed revenue projections for fund-level asset management, property, and construction management fees for acquisition and disposition activities.
- Oversees the continual development and improvement of the budgeting and forecasting tools.
- Tracks headcount and compensation changes providing analysis on the resulting financial impact.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to calculate and analyze annual incentive plans and other benefit programs.
- Prepare analysis and track the financial progress of key strategic initiatives.
- Develops and prepares compelling, accurate, and visually effective financial presentations for senior leaders and board members.
- Oversee the continual development and improvement of the budgeting and forecasting tools.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
What You'll Bring- Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- 5-8 years of experience required; FP&A experience required; Real estate accounting experience preferred
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Vena Planning software or other budgeting software program experience preferred
- Ability to work comfortably with incomplete information and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem solver with the ability to present solutions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple changes
- Positive attitude with a commitment to excellence and integrity
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff through training and mentoring
